The Shady RV Dealership sent out a tech they contract to do work for them yesterday so he could fix the holes they made in our RV last August. You remember the holes…the ones that caused the massive electrical short that cost us about $700 to fix. Rob sealed up the holes posthaste, and we got to talking about the awning situation. Apparently, he’s friends with the independent repairman we hire from time to time, Patrick, who had told Rob all about the fiasco with the awning. Small world, eh? At any rate, Rob is the one who urged the RV dealership to contact me and try to make it right. When I showed him the problem with raising and lowering the awning, he offered to come out two weekends from now and take care of it for us. And he apologized for the dealership, explaining that they guy who did the work no longer is employed at the dealership and did a LOT of shoddy work, much of which Rob has had to clean up after. I appreciated his candor and could tell from my talk with him that he really does know what he’s doing. He even flashed his RVIA master technician certification.
My question: Why did the dealership wait NINE MONTHS to send out someone competent? If they’d sent out Rob in the first place, we wouldn’t have had any of these problems.
Oh, well, I’m grateful something’s getting done.
