About a month or so ago, the igniter on our stovetop stopped working. Rather than bother to try to figure out what was wrong with it, we just started using a lighter to get the burners going.

Today I finally decided to take a moment, pull up the rangetop, and try to figure out what the problem might be. I didn’t hold out much hope, since all the forums I’d read about faulty igniters seemed to indicate that new parts were needed.

Turns out that all that was wrong with the thing was that a wire had come loose. Apparently, this is the wire that provided the electrical spark to get the fire going. I just had to push it back into its receptacle, and BINGO! We have fire once more!

It’s the little triumphs, folks!
